Involving You on BooksfromScotland.com

Good afternoon!

I'm going having a long weekend this weekend, so will be away from the office from Thursday. One of the reasons I decided to start this Editor's Blog is because it's an easy way of asking for feedback about the work we do on BooksfromScotland.com. What features do you enjoy reading on BooksfromScotland.com? What did you think of our recent article on Scottish Travel Writing? Or maybe you preferred Roderick Watson's more scholarly article "Out of the quarrel with ourselves..."? What are your favourite pages on the site? What can we do to make the site better?

Using this blog's comments feature allows you to tell me and the others at BooksfromScotland.com what you really think of the site. It also allows me to test the water. For instance, I'm doing some research into Scottish Science Fiction writers, but I don't know if that's what our readers want to learn about? In April, we're hoping to have a look at Gaelic publishing in Scotland, a fairly niche topic, but I think an important and interesting one. Maybe you disagree?

In the future (I'm looking into my crystal ball now) we'd like to be able to integrate some of this directly into BooksfromScotland.com - so you could read a feature, or author interview, or book, and post your own thoughts, questions and reviews directly onto the page. That's probably a long way off for now.

And I'm always looking for new ideas - there will be new books I miss, book festivals I can't attend, authors I'll never meet - but you might do, and and I'd like to hear about them.

So, please, leave your comments, thoughts, even rants below - just click on the link where it says "comments".

(If you have a question about an order you have placed with BooksfromScotland.com, or the availability of a book, please email customer services directly; I will not able to respond to any such requests on this blog).

All the best,

Liam
